Energy Company Obligation - ECO
Under the Government’s recently launched Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) which runs alongside the Green Deal, accredited installers have funds provided by the big six energy companies, to cover the cost of a free boiler or free home insulation. The ECO Affordable Warmth Scheme has been introduced to fight fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions and if you qualify, you could have an ‘A’ rated energy efficient boiler, loft insulation or cavity wall insulation installed in your home……………. FREE OF CHARGE!
Under the ECO Affordable Warmth scheme the FUNDING COVERS THE FULL COST of the boiler and labour required for the installation, as well as a FREE SURVEY to establish whether you qualify. But unlike the Green Deal there are no loans to repay, so you get the full benefit of any savings in energy bills as a result of a better insulated home or a more efficient central heating boiler.
To qualify for a new high efficiency boiler fully installed free of charge you must receive certain State Benefits as listed below.
To qualify for a free boiler or with the Affordable Warmth Scheme, you must:
Have an inefficient or unreliable Gas central heating boiler &
Receive one or more of the following benefits
Child tax credit (Household income below £15,850)
State pension credit (Top up to your current state pension)
Income related employment support allowance
Working tax credit (Household income below £15,850)
If you meet the above criteria you can contact us to arrange a home visit and survey.
The ECO Affordable Warmth scheme does not cover LPG, Electric storage heaters or oil-fired boilers.
Only central heating boilers which use natural gas are covered by this scheme.
ECO Scheme for Landlords
If you are a private landlord you can also enquire about a free boiler or free insulation as it is the tenant that may be eligible under the ECO scheme. This means that you could have a new ‘A’ rated, efficient & reliable central heating boiler fitted in your property completely free of charge. What’s more, there is no limit to the number of properties for which you can apply as long as the tenant qualifies and other criteria are met.
